SAFETY INFORMATION

 | DON'T Swim alone off headlands, in rivers, near harbours,
on an empty stomach or after a heavy meal. |
 | DON'T jump or dive into unknown waters. |
 | BEWARE of fast currents and tidal waters. In some areas the
incoming tide will be faster than you can run! |
 | Wear the appropriate clothing and footwear for the
conditions. |
 | Be careful when walking along the cliffs and over rocks. |
 | If going to sea, inform someone of your journey and when
you reach your destination. |
S - Sunny or stormy, always check the
weather before you play by the sea
E - Emergency - call 999 Coastguard if you see someone
in trouble
A - Airbed - Always tie a small boat or airbed to shore
for safe play - and make sure you are being watched by a responsible grown-up.
S - Slippery rocks - It's easy to hurt yourself or slip
off a cliff top
I - Incoming tide - You'll get cut off by rising water,
so watch the tides
D - Dress Properly for what you are doing including life
jackets
E - Enjoy Yourself, be sensible, be safe!
If you have to dial 999 then remember to tell the Coastguard
the following

 | When you saw it |
 | Any other information that you think will assist |
If you provide this information it will assist the Coastguard
to make the best response possible to an incident.
